Role: Staff Nurse - Wards

Core Responsibilities:
- To act with the upmost professionalism and to adhere to the NMC code of conduct
- Monitor and assist in the delivery of patient-centred care

What you will be doing:
- Be involved in the daily handovers to communicate all aspects of care and needs
- To demonstrate excellent communication skills within all nursing care
- To assess and plan nursing daily care
- Provide pre- and post-operation care
- Monitor and administer medication and intravenous infusions
- Take patient samples, pulses, temperatures and blood pressures
- To supervise junior staff and tutor student nurses
- Organise and prioritise workloads
- Provide emotional support to patients and relatives
- To efficiently and accurately complete all written documentation and record keeping
- Be a role model to other staff on all departmental and hospital-wide matters
- Ensure the working environment is as safe as possible and complies with company, professional, legal requirements and guidelines
- Adhere to Infection Prevention Control policies and procedures
- To work closely with the Procurement Department
Who we are looking for:
- Diploma / Degree in adult general nursing
- Trained in Phlebotomy & Cannulation
- Trained in wound assessment
- Trained in administering medications
- IV trained
- Trained in basic observations / ECGs
- Safeguarding (Adults) Level 3
- An understanding of perioperative patient care
- Knowledge of the deteriorating patient
- Practical knowledge of safeguarding within a healthcare setting
- At least 6 months of post qualification experience within an appropriate healthcare setting
- Practical knowledge of safeguarding within a healthcare setting
- Ability to demonstrate high standards of verbal and written communication
- Ability to present information clearly and concisely
- Tact and diplomacy
- Ability to work flexibly and respond to urgent matters
- Ability to follow instructions and work to tight time constraints
- Reliability and dependability
